Consultancy Services for Heating, Plumbing and Renewable Energy

Exothermic Installations Ltd providing professional consultancy for heating, plumbing and renewable energy in the in the Swindon, Newbury and surrounding areas.

We operate different levels of consultancy from a simple “What are our options?” - which is by far our most common consultancy, when people are looking at replacement or alteration of an existing system or thinking of building a new house. To full conceptual and system design along with full mechanical and electrical calculations, heat loss calculations, flow rate calculations, water usage calculations, ventilation calculations (MVHR systems), CAD drawings etc, etc.

We are also increasingly being asked to consult on and rectify other companies installations - especially renewable energy. We operate on a fixed fee or hourly basis depending on your project and requirements - contact us for more information.

How can we help you?

As we have been qualified heating engineers and installers for over 34 consecutive years and renewable heating and energy installers for the last 10 years - we have the experience and the knowledge to advise you on the best solution for your particular situation. We can advise you on all of the options, likely fuel cost and carbon savings and the pros and the cons of each. As we are qualified and experienced in all of the fuel technologies, we have no bias to either, so we can give you truly impartial advice. As well as questions like “Can we fit it in our property?” and “Will it work?” - We can advise you on planning and building regulations compliance.

We use all of experience and knowledge to advise you and help you to select the right solution for your own project and your own unique requirements. We advise you on the technologies available, selection of the right products and manufacturers for the job, the best system options and components available, the best control options and products available and advise on available grant funding and how to access it!

This allows us to compile an initial outline for your consideration and then a detailed specification for your approval for your project. From this we can give you a fixed quotation for the works and you are free to get other quotes based upon this detailed specification. For your peace of mind we will even refund our consultancy fee to you (terms apply) when you proceed with us for the installation.

If you proceed with another installer, then you know that you have got exactly what you wanted, hassle free, with no pressure, no dodgy sales or special “today only deals” or “one off” discounts - at the most competitive, fairest and realistic price. We don't think you can get a better or fairer than that!

So why consult?

When companies are competing for business, they have to be just that - competitive. But what does a price tell you? If you get 10 estimates, you get 10 prices. Why is there such a variation in the range of the prices? What are the reasons for the price variations and what does it mean?

Unless all the companies are pricing to the exact same detailed specification and parameters - they mean absolutely nothing! There is no other comparison other than the price! Its just a lucky dip - Good luck!

So why are they all charging different hourly rates?

A good professional company knows its worth and charges accordingly for professional quality installation that is fully compliant with all rules and regulations in force and gives good customer service. If you pay peanuts - you get monkeys! Beware of cheap installations.

Why are they all differing in time to complete the works?

This will vary depending on quality of workmanship and quality and specification of installation. Speed isn’t everything! Why cut corners just to save time?
